This painting is for the wanderers.
I just turned 30, and I feel a lot of pressure to have hit certain milestones in a certain order.
I’ve found a lot of healing in nature, and especially in these birds, called bramblings.
Most birds fly the same route every year. Bramblings wander. They follow the food, so where they end up changes every winter. Sometimes it’s somewhere totally unexpected.
They’re not lost. They’re going where they can be nourished.
So if you’re late, or taking a detour, or never arriving at the place you were “supposed” to be, maybe you’re not off track. Maybe you’re following what feeds you.
The scenic route is better anyway.
