About The Artist

Hi! I'm Ruth, and I'm so grateful you're here.
I have been painting for as long as I can remember, but I started sharing my art online after moving into my first house in February 2026. Inspired by my house's history (built in 1960) and my longtime passion for folk art, I found my way into a style all my own: mid century folk.
Soon after moving in, I discovered my house had been unethically flipped. What followed was months of upheaval. I lost 90% of my belongings, my family's health was put at risk, and we were displaced from our home.
In processing the trauma of all of this, my art has become a way of exploring how to create joy, even when it's hard. It's helped me connect to nature and find small moments of solace, and slowly rebuild a sense of home and belonging.
Through my work, I want to inspire others to access the healing power of nature right in their own backyards. Trauma changes us. There's no going back to who we were before. But there can still be a future full of joy, safety, and home, even when that future feels far away.
Thank you for being here and taking the time to see my art. I hope it brings you something meaningful, too.
