A print of an original hand-painted design by Ruth Reed.

I feel I'm a late bloomer - I just turned 30, I'm not married, I don't have kids, and I blew up the career I spent my 20's building to pursue art.

But I take a lot of comfort in these goldfinches.

They're the late bloomers of the bird world. They nest later than any other bird.

But they're not late!! They're waiting for a specific type of flower to bloom so there's enough food for their babies.

So, maybe if I have kids later, I'd be a better mom than I would have earlier.

Maybe I'm building the best life BECAUSE I waited.

So, maybe you're not a late bloomer. Maybe you're right on time.
